Hainrode is located at the southern part of the Harz in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz, in the middle of the biosphere reserve “Karstlandschaft Südharz”. Majestic beech tree forests, lush meadows, fertile acres and old organic orchards dominate the landscape. Although the little village only has around 350 inhabitants, it offers its visitors a huge variety of attractions.
Go hiking through the Karstlandschaft on our most beautiful path or learn something about the tradition of broom binding in the ancient workshops of the broom binding women.
Every season, several festivals invite you to visit Hainrode: the broom binding festival, the day for putting the cattle out to pasture or Advent in the Höfen, to name only a few cultural highlights.
